Outdoor Recreation & Equipment Rental
The mission of the Outdoor Recreation Program is to provide a comprehensive program of outdoor leisure activities for members of the military community. Hunter Army Airfield is located in Savannah, Georgia along the intra-coastal waterway and offers picnicking, camping and boat docking amenities at Lott's Island picnic area, campground and marina. Rent household equipment, grills of all sizes, a camper or choose from a variety of boats with inboard/outboard motors. Pass and permit offices sell hunting and fishing licenses at both Hunter and Fort Stewart.

Campground
Lotts Island Campground has 16 full hook up sites with 11 being pull through. Maximum 90 day stay, full hook up sites are $35/day ($22/day for Active duty and Retirees). Primitive Sites are $6/day.
Mail forwarding address for our campers is to be sent to the main post office in Savannah, Georgia. Main post office is located at 2 N Fahm Street in downtown Savannah near River Street. Mail should be sent to the following location for RV Guests:

Skeet Range
Skeet and Trap Ranges are located at both Hunter AAF and Ft Stewart. Cost is only $5.00 per round. There is lots of good camaraderie and competition.
Hunter AAF Skeet and Trap Ranges are located at Stratofortress Road, just off Perimeter Road. Ranges are open on Thursday evenings from 1 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am to noon. Call the Outdoor Recreation Center at (912) 315-9554 for information or the Skeet Range on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings at (912) 315-9250.
Ft. Stewart Range is open on Thursday evenings from 3 to 7 pm, Friday from 4 - 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. Call the Outdoor Recreation Center at (912) 435-8205 for information or the Skeet Range on Thursday evenings at (912) 435-8219.
Skeet and Trap have private clubs that offer extended hours for shooting.

The Pass and Permit office sells hunting and fishing licenses and issues area access passes for recreational activities, i.e. fishing, hunting, camping, nature watching, berry picking, etc. The fishing season is year round in ponds and rivers with the prime bass, redbreast and crappie in the spring of the year.

Parks, Ponds & Picnics
Lotts Island Picnic Area offers new enclosed picnic pavilions as well as a children’s play area. Full hook up is available: 30& 50 amp service, water and sewage at each site, cable and Wi-Fi. Water hook up is available for overflow sites and camping. The campground is secluded with a beautiful marsh view.
