The Hunter Army Airfield School Liaison Office recognizes that the military family's well-being is a priority of its soldiers. As a Child Youth and School Services (CYSS) program, the School Liaison Office works to inform and assist military families on youth education and transition issues through collaboration and coordination with local schools. The school liaison officer ensures that our families are able to obtain academic achievement and awareness of community resources by:

  • Providing parents moving to Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF) information on all schools serving the installation, both on- and off-post, private and public.

  • Provides transition information on leaving one school district to enter a new school; as well as transitions between elementary and middle school, and middle and high school

  • Provides youth sponsorship, youth sponsor training, youth action council, arrival / departure activities

  • Provides in and outprocessing information to ensure soldiers link with the school liaison officer at the recieving installation; Ensures families are aware of senior stablization procedures, interstate compact and Senate Bill 114 for military provisions while in the GA school system.
  • Home school programming and support group

  • Information and seminars for youth on coping with deployment, grief, and loss of a loved one

  • Post-secondary education preparation information
